At Suncrest Flowers, we’re here to answer all those questions and help you keep your bouquet looking fresh for as long as possible. So grab a cup of coffee, get cozy, and let’s talk about how to care for your flowers

Suncrest Flowers Pro Tips:

  • Start with a clean vase.

  • Prep your stems

  • Use fresh water

  • Keep flowers away from fruit

Let's break it down!

Tip 1: Start with a Clean Vase

We don’t accept any funky-looking vases here! Starting with a clean vase helps your flowers last longer.

Make sure you wash your vase with warm water and soap just like you would any other dish.

After drying, you’re good to move on to the next step! Yay!

Tip 2: Prep Those Stems

To help your flowers absorb water more efficiently, cut stems at a 45° angle and take off about ½ to 1 inch from the bottom.

While you’re trimming the stems, be sure to remove any leaves that will be submerged in the water of your vase. Leaves left in the water can (and will!) rot quickly and create bacteria, which shortens the life of the bouquet-and we definitely don't want that! :(

Tip 3: Fresh Water

This might sound like common knowledge, but let's mention it juuusssttt in case.

Always remember to add clean, fresh water to your vase! Fill the vase about ⅔ full and use room temperature or cool water. Never warm!

If you want to be an even more amazing flower parent, change the water every 2-3 days to limit bacterial exposure help those flowers stay hydrated.

Tip 4: Keep Flowers Away from Fruit

Why?

Most people don’t know this, but fruits release a gas called ethylene which can cause flowers to age and wilt more quickly. Especially watch out for bananas, apples, and avocados!

Keep this in mind when you’re placing your bouquet in its new home!
